Lunchtime talk at Chichester Library

CHT talk Chichester Library 26 Jan 17
At last week’s talk, as well as outlining the aims of the Chichester Heritage Trails project, Chris also congratulated Chichester Library on celebrating the fiftieth anniversary of its opening in January 1967. Chris also noted that the library was opened by Professor Asa Briggs, who only died last year, aged 94. Chris thought that Briggs’ ‘Social History of England,’ was one of the most readable, yet authorartive concise histories’ that had been written in recent times. Chichester Library was listed as a ‘grade II’ building of architectural or historical interest in 2016.
